ASIA PACIFIC SCREEN FORUM ROUNDTABLES
Roundtable discussions provide a unique space for Queensland and interstate screen creatives to openly discuss their craft and an opportunity for participants to learn from each other and international filmmaker guests.
If you’re looking to elevate your professional practice or explore an industry issue, the industry roundtables are a candid and supportive arena to unpack current issues and trends of the screen sector with some of the regions acclaimed industry leaders.
These sessions are FREE, and open by expression of interest to a limited total number of participants to ensure a closed-door conversation held under Chatham House Rules where everyone can contribute. Successful recipients will have the opportunity to purchase Awards tickets at industry discounted rates.
Industry roundtables are available in-person only, and will be held at The Langham, Gold Coast.

ANIMATING THE ASIA PACIFIC

An exclusive opportunity for animators to delve into the intricacies of character and world building, and how to incorporate cultural influences and stylistic choices unique to the Asia Pacific region.
DEBUT FEATURE TO SOPHOMORE – WHAT’S NEXT AND HOW

Dive into the challenges and opportunities filmmakers face when transitioning from their first feature to their second. Filmmakers will share their experiences of navigating the pressures of following up a debut, refining their voice, and balancing creative freedom with industry expectations.
CURATING THE ASIA PACIFIC LANDSCAPE
Saturday 30 November, 10am – 12noon

Discuss the significance of film festivals and their role in promoting Asia Pacific cinema, and how programmers can continue to champion filmmakers, build profile and engage audiences amidst resource limitations and political complexities.
The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country, including the custodial communities on whose land works are created and celebrated by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waters and communities. We also pay our respects to Elders, past and present. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
