Meteoric star on the rise, Reef Ireland has emerged as one of Australia’s most promising young actors. Twice shortlisted for the ‘Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship’, his credits include the lead role in Downriver (2015), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Kim Farrant’s Strangerland (2015) which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Prior film credits include Fell (2014) from director Kasimir Burgess, Ana Kokkinos’ acclaimed Blessed (2009), opposite Frances O’Connor, Miranda Otto and Deborah-Lee Furness, Summer Coda and South Solitary (2010). Ireland was also the lead in Director Grant Scicluna’s The Wilding (2012), (the preceding story of Downriver) which won the Iris Prize, the world’s largest LGBT short film prize.
