FILMMAKING IN HOSTILE ENVIRONMENTS

Film production is a challenging prospect under any circumstances. But how is production impacted when the threat of violence is ever present? This panel will discuss how filmmakers navigate the politics, the logistics, and the challenges of filming in politically unsafe environments. From cultural restrictions, warzones, protests, or working with politically or culturally sensitive material, panellists will share their experiences from the frontline.

Featuring Shawkat Amin Korki (Iraq), Rachel Leah Jones (Israel, United States of America), Sam Ho (Hong Kong (PRC), United States of America),and Granaz Moussavi (Australia, Islamic Republic of Iran), moderated by Peter Greste (Australia).

Panellists will be joining the 3rd Asia Pacific Screen Forum virtually.  In person events held at HOTA, Home of the Arts include industry networking and refreshments.
