Originally from Adelaide but now living in the Andean metropolis Bogotá, Colombia, Eddie has had a career as a filmmaker and artist featuring animated and live-action films, illustrations and even a popular book featuring drawings of Colombian expressions published in 2023. One of the co-founders of The People’s Republic of Animation, Eddie has made shorts that include the Oscar-shortlisted and AFI, Dendy, IF and Melbourne International Film Festival award-winning short The Cat Piano (2009) narrated by Nick Cave, and others including Carnivore Reflux (2006) and Sweet & Sour (2007). His debut live-action short film Upside Down Feeling featuring Australian actress Odessa Young was hand-picked by Roman Coppola as part of Francis Ford Coppola’s Coppola Short Film Festival held parallel to the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

After moving to Colombia in 2020, Eddie ended up the historic and Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena, the city where Love In the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez was set, and gained a growing local following on Instagram (currently over 260,000 followers) when he started exploring and drawing the culture, food, music, people, relationships, details and wildlife of the South American country in his own distinct style. Eddie is currently working on a live-action feature script with a fantastical slant, Neotropico, that he hopes to shoot in Colombia in the future.
