Connect will explore the nuances of non-official coproductions, where cultural competence, relationship-building, and entrepreneurial thinking shape the future of international collaborations.

11.20am Panel: Cultivating Partnerships: Co-Production vs. Co-Financing and the Importance of Trust This session will explore the critical distinctions between co-production and co-financing, offering key insights into the business affairs and legal frameworks that underpin each model. Experts will discuss what makes international partnerships thrive, using successful case studies from the Asia Pacific region. In the second half of the panel, the focus shifts to why strong, long-term relationships come before projects. Just as land must be nurtured before it can yield a harvest, the foundation of co-productions lies in cultivating trust and understanding between partners. This discussion will dive into the metaphorical “groundwork” needed for enduring collaboration across borders, emphasizing the importance of building relationships over transactional agreements.
