Enis Köstepen was born in İzmir in 1979. He is trained in international trade and sociology at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul and anthropology at The New School for Social Research in NYC. In 2001, as a member of a cinephile collective from Boğaziçi University, he became one of the founding editors of the leading Turkish cinema monthly Altyazı. Since 2001, he has been a member of Altyazı‘s editorial board, and has been a producer in fiction and documentary productions.

His producer credits include Dark Cloud (Theron Patterson, 2009), Beyond the Hill (Emin Alper, 2012), Lifelong (co-producer; Aslı Özge, 2013) and Frenzy (Emin Alper, 2015). Enis Köstepen is an EAVE (2011) graduate. With Beyond the Hill, Enis Köstepen received the Best Feature Film award at 2012 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
