Park Jung-bum began his career with the internationally award-winning short films Templementary and 125 Jeon Seung-chul. He was assistant director to Lee Chang-dong on his film Poetry, which won Best Screenplay at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, the 2010 APSA for Achievement in Directing and was nominated for Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay. In 2009, Park completed his debut feature The Journals Of Musan, which won both the New Currents and FIPRESCI Awards at the 2010 Busan International Film Festival. The film received international attention, winning the Grand Prize at Marrakech International Film Festival and the Tiger Award at International Film Festival Rotterdam. Alive, written, directed by and starring Park, is his second feature film.
