Lasha Khalvashi was born and raised in culturally rich Georgia, and his journey in the film industry began in 2006. After managing several film production studios, in 2013 Lasha founded his own company, Artizm.

Under his leadership, Artizm rapidly gained recognition. The films produced by Artizm achieved international acclaim, capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide and securing prestigious awards at renowned film festivals. The studio’s diverse portfolio spans full-length films, shorts, TV series, documentaries and animations.

Beyond his role as a producer, he has actively participated in industry activities, including workshops, platforms and panel discussions as well as serving as a respected member of various film festival juries. His passion and knowledge were recognised when he was selected as one of the “Producers on the Move” by the European Film Promotion. Furthermore, Variety, the influential entertainment industry publication, recognised Lasha as one of the “10 to Watch” producers, highlighting his significant contributions to the world of cinema. In 2018 and 2023, films produced under his guidance were chosen as Georgia’s official entries for the Oscars.

Beyond his professional achievements, Lasha is an active member of various influential film organisations, including the European Film Academy, the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, the Georgian Film Academy, the Film Producers Guild of Georgia, the EAVE network and the ACE network.
