International Federation of Film Producers Associations

FIAPF

FIAPF-International Federation of Film Producers Associations is the international organisation representing film producers across the world.

With 37 producer organisations, across 30 countries on five continents, it is the peak body representing film producers across the world. FIAPF is an advocate for producers and helps formulate policies and coordinate political action in many key areas of the industry.

FIAPF endorses the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Charter Rules and Regulations and enlists the support of FIAPF member organisations and festivals to submit films to represent their country or area. Each year, at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Ceremony, FIAPF honours a filmmaker from the region with the FIAPF Award for outstanding achievement in film.

2018 MESSAGE FROM LUIS ALBERTO SCALELLA, PRESIDENT OF FIAPF

FIAPF – the International Federation of Film Producers Associations has been a proud partner of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) since their inception in 2007. APSA celebrates the creativity and the diversity of the film production made in the Asia Pacific region and in one decade it has become an important rendezvous in the awards circuit across the globe.

Beyond promotion for filmmakers and their craft, APSA also plays a pivotal role as a platform of exchange for filmmakers from the region that contributes to foster creative and industry relations within the Asia Pacific.

FIAPF is also proud to honour producers and creators who are seminal in developing a strong creative film sector. The FIAPF Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film has celebrated many outstanding individuals from Islamic Republic of Iran to Republic of Korea, People’s Republic of China to Japan, and tonight we welcome Ms Nandita Das of India whose works as an actress and as a director have seen inspired and audacious stories meet with worldwide acknowledgment and success. Nandita Das’ creative choices have influenced the Indian film industry and enriched international audiences’ understanding of Indian culture.

On behalf of FIAPF Members, I would like to congratulate this year’s nominees and convey our warmest thanks to Chairman Michael Hawkins and the APSA team, juries and the City of Brisbane for believing in films with us.

Luis Alberto Scalella
