Born in 1975, Koji Yamamoto joined the Fuji Television Network in 2000 where he was in charge of planning and production of anime for their noitaminA block, a late-night anime showcase that has highlighted the works of directors like Hiroyasu Ishida. He also established Twin Engine, an anime planning and production company, in 2014. He has worked on popular titles based on original comics such as Honey and Clover as well as hard-line original anime Psycho-Pass, Eden of the East and its sequel. He has written two feature screenplays, The Empire of Corpses and Harmony, and in 2017 produced Lu Over the Wall for director Masaaki Yuasi, which was awarded with the Feature Film Award at the prestigious Annecy International Animated Film Festival and was also nominated at the Fantasia and Shanghai international film festivals. In 2018, he collaborated with Hiroyasu Ishida once more, producing Penguin Highway, which is his first APSA nomination.
