Aisultan Seit was born on January 31, 1997, in Almaty. Since school he was interested in filmmaking and made short films with his classmates.

After school, Aisultan entered the New York Film Academy and studied filmmaking. There he made a short film, The Jackal, which was presented at the New York Film Festival in 2016 and won the Best Director award.
Before making films, Aisultan directed the presentation of Kanye West’s album “Donda” and made music videos for Travis Scott, Noize MC, Ivan Dorn, 21 Savage and others.

In 2022, he directed his debut feature film Qas, about the famine genocide of the Kazakh people in 1930s.
