Anthony has been animating plasticene since the tender age of 11 when he first saw the 1933 Willis O’Brien animated King Kong. He loves to make miniatures and often makes his fanciful films with his wife Julia and more recently his crew list has included his kids Peggy and Henry.

Anthony has made many short films and is best known for his animated short The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello, which was nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA and won the Grand Prix at Annecy in 2005. Jasper Morello was written by Mark Shirrefs and produced by Julia Lucas and Susie Campbell.

Anthony’s short film Holding Your Breath and live-action short My Rabit Hoppy were both in competition at Cannes (2001 and 2008). Slim Pickings was selected for Sundance in 2000. Bad Baby Amy was commissioned by S4C as part of the Animated Tales of the World and was nominated for a BAFTA in 2002.

Anthony has worked as a Special Sequence Director on the Warner Bros. features Queen of the Damned for director Michael Rymer and Where the Wild Things Are for director Spike Jonze. He has directed numerous TV commercials, a national station ID series for SBS television, and more recently a 1950s-inspired crashed flying saucer diorama for ACMI at Fed Square in Melbourne.
