Antoinette Jadaone is an award-winning Filipina filmmaker who is a household name in both the art-house and mainstream film industries. Her debut feature, Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay (2011), travelled to several international film festivals, including the Busan International Film Festival. She directed one of the highest-grossing independent films in Philippine cinema history, That Thing Called Tadhana (2014), which was also invited to big genre festivals like the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. She then helmed romantic comedies and romantic dramas and supported by the biggest studios in the Philippines. Her film, Fan Girl (2020) had its premiere in the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival Main Competition.

We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country, including the custodial communities on whose land works are created and celebrated by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waters and communities. We also pay our respects to Elders, past and present. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
