Batara Goempar has been nominated for Best Cinematography at Festival Film Indonesia’s Piala Citra Awards five times – for director Edwin’s Posessive (Posefif, 2017), Timo Tjahjanto’s May the Devil Take You (Sebelum Iblis Menjemput, 2018), Lucky Kuswandi’s Ali and the Queens (2021), Rahabi Mandra and Aldo Swastia’s Cadet 1947 (Kadet 1947, 2022) and Kamila Andini’s Before, Now and Then (Nana, 2022). He was an Asian Academy Creative Award nominee in 2020 for the Indonesian teen drama series Pretty Little Liars, based on the US series of the same name.
Other credits include Garin Nugroho’s Ah…I’m Falling in Love (Aach… Aku Jatuh Cinta, 2016) and Timo Tjahjanto’s action thriller The Night Comes for Us (2018).
