Palitha Perera is one of Sri Lanka’s top cinematographers and has been awarded all major awards in Sri Lanka for his work. He has shot more than 500 commercials, 20 television films and 2 feature films. His second film Sankara (2007) has won numerous awards at various international film festivals, including the Silver Pyramid Award at the Cairo film festival. Palitha’s experimental raw style of cinematography was highly acclaimed by fi lm critics around the globe. Palitha started his work life as a teacher but his great interest in photography and a passion for the arts led him to cinematography.
