Ritesh Sidhwani is a co-founder of the film production house Excel Entertainment, which is known for its box office hits like Dil Dhadakne Do, Talaash, Don 2, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Gully Boy and the recent Madgaon Express. The debut film under his helm, Dil Chahta Hai, not only attained cult status for pioneering a new genre in Indian cinema but also secured a National Award in 2001. His professionalism and dedication were further recognised in 2008 when he won the National Award for the musical Rock On.

Ritesh’s diverse body of work encompasses themes ranging from coming of age to fast-paced action thrillers. Excel Entertainment produced India’s first original series on Amazon Prime Video, Inside Edge, and was nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2018 in the Best Drama Series category. Following the success of Inside Edge, Excel along with Amazon produced two more shows, Mirzapur and Made in Heaven, both earning critical acclaim and high viewership. In 2023, the series Dahaad premiered and competed in Berlinale, while Bambai Meri Jaan had its international premiere in London. The following year, Excel Entertainment, Tiger Baby and Amazon MGM Studios produced Superboys of Malegaon, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
