Shujaat Saudagar

A prolific director and screenwriter with a vast repository of work across films and advertising, Shujaat Saudagar is best known for directing the runaway success Bambai Meri Jaan, a series on Amazon Prime Video. His experimental feature The Underbug won the Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival 2023. He also directed Rock On 2! for Excel Entertainment. Shujaat’s ad film for Rajasthan Tourism, which beautifully showcased the rich heritage of Rajasthan, earned high praise and a standing ovation from senior Indian government officials, creating an impactful campaign that aligned with government objectives. He is also behind pathbreaking campaigns for leading brands like Pepsi, KFC and Vivo.

As director, producer and screenwriter, Shujaat brings a unique dimension to Chalkboard Entertainment’s creative capabilities.

The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country, including the custodial communities on whose land works are created and celebrated by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waters and communities. We also pay our respects to Elders, past and present. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
