Adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen tale, the story begins in a farmyard where chickens, ducks and geese live and lay eggs together. One fine day, a rooster discovers a giant egg behind the farmyard kingdom fence, and discreetly slips it into the clutch laid by his partner. Very soon, a strange, ugly chick emerges. The poor duckling is rejected by the chickens, ducks and geese as he tries to fit in and find a parent. Enduring humiliations and suspicion, the ugly duckling is eventually tossed into the outside world where his true identity is revealed.
