Nomination Detail

Teenager Billie thinks she knows everything about her mother so she is surprised when she learns of her mother’s plan to transition from woman to man. On top of this there’s also the upsetting parental decision that Billie will live with her father full time for a year. Mother and daughter make a promise to meet every Tuesday without fail throughout the year. Taking advantage of the increasing disconnect between family members, Billie begins an unusual friendship with two older school kids where she gets to try the one thing she can’t work out: sex. However, as Billie asserts her independence, she discovers that secrets are both a burden and necessity to getting what you want.
