A graduate from the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière – The National Film, Photography & Sound Engineering School in Paris, Ferrière has worked as a cinematographer and photographer for more than 20 years. A prolific traveler, he has worked on feature films and documentaries all over the world including long periods of time in Mongolia and Siberia and a summer in Yemen teaching documentary techniques to journalists covering environmental issues. Ferrière collaborated with friend and filmmaker Partho Sen-Gupta on his debut feature Let the Wind Blow (Hava Aney Dey) and again on Sunrise, for which he was recently awarded the Best Cinematography prize at the Durban International Film Festival.
