Azmeri Haque Badhon is a well-known model and television actress in Bangladesh whose career took off after winning the runner-up prize in a popular beauty pageant. Rehana Maryam Noor is her first major role in a feature film that went on to become the first Bangladeshi film ever to be selected in Official Competition at Cannes. Formally trained in dental surgery, Badhon is a single mother, living in Dhaka with her 10-year old daughter. She is an advisor to a non-profit organization that works for youth and has been a consistent vocal about women’s empowerment, gender equality and mental illness.

The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
