Film Synopsis

In a prison within a prison, 40 Afghani women and their 34 children are housed in a facility within a 500-man prison. Ironically, in one important way the women have more freedom here than if they were back home, with no one to punish them for showing their faces. No Burqas Behind Bars provides an insight into the lives of some of the most vulnerable and oppressed women on the planet.
