Film Synopsis

Everything on the White Planet is black and white. Everyone on the planet has white skin, except for Choi Min-je, who is the only person whose skin bears colour. Everyone treats him like a monster. Min-je has a violent and lonely upbringing and loses both of his parents. He believes that everything has happened because he is different. He wants an ordinary life like others, and the only way to achieve that is to get off the planet. The sky is filled with such beautiful colours. Somewhere beyond the sky, surely exist people just like him. Just when he needs them most, people who claim that they can help, show up in Min-je’s life.

The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country, including the custodial communities on whose land works are created and celebrated by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waters and communities. We also pay our respects to Elders, past and present. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
