Brisbane, Australia:
Rona, Azim’s Mother (Rona, Madar-e Azim, Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan) by brothers Jamshid and Navid Mahmoudi has been awarded the prestigious Asia Pacific Screen Award (APSA) for Cultural Diversity under the patronage of UNESCO at the prestigious 13th annual APSA ceremony in Brisbane Australia.
This award, determined by the dedicated APSA Cultural Diversity International Jury, represents APSA’s founding partnership with UNESCO, and the shared goals of the two organisations in the protection and preservation of cultural identity.
The region’s highest accolade in film, the uniquely Australian initiative ignites and celebrates the cinematic excellence of the 70 countries and areas of the region at a glittering red carpet ceremony in Brisbane in November.
Stories encompassing thirteen countries and areas of Asia Pacific were awarded at the 13th annual event, with the majority of the winners also being their country’s Official Submission for the Academy Awards® in the Best International Feature Film Category.
37 films from 22 countries and areas of Asia Pacific achieved nominations for the prestigious awards, drawn from the 289 films in APSA competition.
Bong Joon-ho’s international hit Parasite won Best Feature Film. The award, a unique handcrafted glass vessel by Brisbane artist Joanna Bone, was accepted on the night by producer Jang Young-hwan.
Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Adrian Schrinner said “Major events such as the Asia Pacific Screen Awards contribute $150 million into Brisbane’s economy and create thousands of local jobs. I would like to congratulate this year’s winner for Best Picture, Bong Joon-ho, and all the other talented filmmakers who were nominated. The calibre of entries this year has been outstanding, and I’m proud to see highly-acclaimed Australian film makers compete alongside our international guests.”

رونا – مادر عظیم ، برنده از ایران در سیزدهمین جشنواره سینمای آسیا پاسیفیک (اپسا)
بریزبن – استرالیا
رونا – مادر عظیم محصول (ایران/افغانستان)، ساخته برادران جمشید و نوید محمودی، جایزه پرافتخار “تنوع فرهنگی” اپسا را از آن خود کرد . این جایزه ویژه با همکاری سازمان یونسکو در سیزدهمین سالانه اپسا در بریزبن استرالیا اعلام شد.
فاند این جایزه توسط اپسا با مشارکت سازمان یونسکو و به دلیل مشترک بودن اهداف این دو سازمان و به منظور حفظ و نگهداری از “تنوع فرهنگی ” منظور شده است که به وسیله هیت داوران بین المللی در بخش ” تنوع فرهنگی ” در اپسا تعیین شده است.
مراسم این جشنواره منحصر بفرد به عنوان مهم ترین اتفاق در زمینه فیلم به ابتکار استرالیای کلید خورده است که بهترین های سینما را از هفتاد کشور و منطقه در روی فرش قرمزی درخشان در ماه نوامبر گرد هم آورد.
داستانهایی از سیزده کشور و منطقه آسیا پاسیفیک برندگان در سیزدهمین سالانه این مراسم شدند که اکثریت برندگان در کاتاگوری بهترین فیلم بلند بین المللی از کشورشان نیز رسما منتخب شده بودند.
سی و هفت فیلم از بیست و دو کشور و منطقه واقع در آسیا پاسیفیک موفق به نامزدی این جایزه مهم شدند که این تعداد از میان دویست و هشتاد و نه فیلم در بخش رقابتی اپسا برگزیده شده بودند.
بونگ جوون- هو، برای فیلم بین المللی “پاراسایت “، برنده بهترین فیلم بلند شد.جایزه این بخش گلدان شیشه ای زیبا و کاردست هنرمند ساکن بریزبن جوانا بون بود که توسط تهیه کننده این فیلم جنگ یانگ -هاوان در مراسم دریافت شد.
شهردار کل بریزبن ، آقای ادرین شریننر، در مراسم اپسا گفتند : “مراسم بزرگی مانند اپسا بالغ بر صد و پنجاه میلیون دلار برای اقتصاد بریزبن به ارمغان می آورد و هزاران شغل برای مردم محل ایجاد می کند. من شخصا به دریافت کننده جایزه بهترین فیلم بلند امسال ، بونگ جوون – هو ، و دیگر فیلم سازان با استعداد که برای این بخش رقابتی کاندید شده اند تبریک می گویم . اشتیاق ورود شرکت کنندگان امسال بسیار قابل توجه بود و من افتخار می کنم که فیلم سازان مطرح استرالیا در بخش رقابتی با دیگر مهمانان بین المللی وارد رقابت شدند.”
